Role of the Collective Worship Committee
The Collective Worship Committee plays a key role in shaping, supporting, and evaluating worship at Norland. Its purpose is to ensure that collective worship is meaningful, inclusive, and reflective of the school’s distinctive Christian vision and values.
Key responsibilities include:

Planning and Leading Worship

Help plan and deliver themes for collective worship, ensuring they reflect Christian values and the school vision.

Lead aspects of worship, including prayers, reflections, readings, or songs.

Pupil Voice and Evaluation

Gather feedback from peers about worship sessions.

Evaluate the impact of worship on spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development.

Suggest improvements to make worship more engaging and inclusive.

Promoting Christian Values and Ethos

Encourage participation from all pupils, respecting diverse faiths and beliefs.

Support the school in living out its Christian values through practical actions and worship.

Acting as Ambassadors for Worship

Promote the importance of collective worship across the school community.

Help new pupils understand the purpose and practice of worship at a Church of England school.

Through the Collective Worship Committee, pupils develop leadership skills, confidence, and a deeper understanding of Christian faith, while contributing to the spiritual life of the school in a meaningful way.
